La Vida is his second LP of 2015, following Romantic Spanish Guitar, Vol. 2 and, like that release, he again blends elements of Latin jazz, rumba, and fluttering Spanish fingerstyle guitar over a bed of laid-back hand percussion and (mostly) unobtrusive synthesizer backdrops. As with most of Armik's releases, his talent as a guitarist is uncontested, even if he rarely leaves his pseudo-new age wheelhouse, though less canned synths and a lot less digital reverb would be a welcome change.
