Sin embargo, en el plano de la ciudad, levantado por D. Diego Garc???a Conde en 1793 se le llama calle del Colegio de Guadalupe, por ser de esa advocaci???n el colegio que all??? hab???a. La calle de que se trata es la que est??? al lado oriental de la iglesia de Loreto, comienza en la plazuela de este nombre, corre de Sur ??? Norte, y desemboca en la calle del Puente del Cuervo. En la esquina formada por ella y por la primera de la Ver???nica, desde mediados del siglo pasado, hubo un colegio bajo la advocaci???n de la Virgen de Guadalupe, destinado ??? la ense???anza y educaci???n de ni???as de la clase ind???gena; de este colegio, pues, por su destino y por su advocaci???n, se derivaron los nombres con que se la designa as??? en el plano, como en el azulejo de su esquina, con el cual es generalmente conocida.
