I find "Knowing The Heart of God" serves me as an excellent devotional. MacDonald knows the heart of God. I am blessed each time I read it. I am encouraged by MacDonald's focus on doing the will of God as opposed to going to church only. The excerpts from his fictional novels have a two fold effect. One is too pull the excellent teaching from the novels and then invites the reader to read or even reread the novels. I highly recommend this book.
