This was a good book about the Best Late Night Talk Show Host in the history of television. It provides a lot of insight in Johnny Carson from his childhood isolation to his adulthood isolation. The book focuses on Carson's reluctance or inability to adjust to the fame that "The Tonight Show" brought him. The author doesn't seem to want to bash Carson the way Kitty Killer-uhh, Kelley would have done but he also doesn't paint many glowing pictures of Carson's personal life either. He appears to have done his homework I was just left wondering how much stock I could actually put into the strories given by his named sources. I would recommend this book but with the warning that if you idolize Johnny Carson and believe he was near perfect, be prepared to learn the other side of this icon. If you are looking for a happier, more fun portrait of Carson, go to Ed McMahon's "Here's Johnny"
