The original manga opened in a dystopian high school, with the eponymous character rescuing a young girl from the abusive administration. Kekko Kamen Surprise, one of numerous animated adaptations of the manga, repeats the basic formula with slight variations in the story, the most noteworthy of which are several rock-n-roll musical numbers performed by the title character.
