I am of Norwegian descent and looked forward to reading this book and possibly adding something new to my celebration of Christmas. This book has provided that. But more than that I have gained a deeper understanding of the underlying Norwegian world view as seen through this celebration. In some ways it has given me a better understanding of my grandparents and the way they lived their lives.
