Seller's Description:
Good. FIRST EDITION. Hardcover. No dust jacket. Gray cover with black graphic on the front and back covers and a white print on the spine. The cover and spine show evidence of wear, the tips of the boards are bumped to the point of exposing the board, the top and bottom of the spine are slightly crushed and the cover of the book is slightly dirty with a bit of wear to the front cover, and a slight red stain to the cover on the lower spine side. This book appears as if it may have been a former library book as it has what appears to be a torn off library card sleeve on the front flyleaf. The pages show discoloration and a slight amount of foxing and small tears throughout due to age. The binding of slightly loose, but still intact. Overall, this book is in good condition.
I loved the book. I first read it back around 1970. The author draws you into the story and makes you feel as though you know them all - as if you were there. It was like visiting with old friends to read it again. It is quite a special family story. Karen and her whole family are remarkable indeed. I will pass it along to my young daughters to read, I will probably reread ir a couple of more times during my lifetime.
