"At first, young Sally June Esh's tragic death doesn't look like murder. Even in peaceful Blue Sky, collisions between buggies and Englisch cars aren't unheard of. Still, the Eshes are skilled drivers used to delivering their popular pickles for miles around. OK, so there was just something about Kappy King And The Pickle Kaper that left me reading late into the night, or rather early in the morning. Maybe it was the growing friendship between Kappy and Edie, the fact that romance is not the main theme, maybe it was the adorably naughty Beagle Elmer....
As more of a cozy mystery this book has a fun vibe to it. Yeah, I know what I'm saying: Is murder ever 'fun'? Well, as a matter of fact, yes, especially when it is such a neat story from author Amy Lillard.
I'll have to make a little confession, while I guessed the killer pretty early on in book one I totally didn't here, though, I actually guessed some of the key circumstances before the big revelation.
I really enjoyed Kappy King And The Pickle Kaper and I can't wait to find out what trouble and adventures Amy Lillard will bring to Kappy, Edie, Jimmy, and Elmer next...
(I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are entirely my own.)
