k.d. lang has never been one to disappoint, and has always been one to try new things. For the first single from Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, the funky, groovy, '70s-tinged Just Keep Me Moving (which incorporates elements of new jack swing), lang forays into dance music, transforming her soulful, organic song into a bona fide club track. This single comes with four different remixes of "Just Keep Me Moving." First, there's the remix of the album track, which became the song's definitive version (and is the one used in the Uma Thurman-starring video). The "Radio Remix" has a harder beat and is a little spacier. The "Movin' Mix" is pure 1990s' sleek house music, and the final mix, the "Wild Planet Mix," is the trippiest, with subtle hints of Eastern influences. Finally, the single includes the Patsy Cline-ish "In Perfect Dreams," also from the same album. Both songs feature lang's lush, silky vocals, always one of the main selling points behind her music. This song was never a true hit, but for k.d. lang fans it's a welcome addition to her stellar, eclectic collection. ~ Jose F. Promis, Rovi
