A collection of twelve loosely connected short stories concerning the eponymous character, they ran monthly in the American publication Blue Book Magazine from September 1916 up until August 1917, before being published as a book. Contains five illustrative plates. In cloth binding. Externally sound, there is wear and markings to the boards and backstrip, as well as shelfwear and light rubbing to extremities. Internally, the frontispiece plate is detached, but the pages are otherwise bright and clean throughout, aside from some light age-toning and handling marks. There is an ink inscription to endpages. Very Good.
