Jumbled: an artist's view of Parkinson's. This book is about having the disease Parkinson's. I was diagnosed in 2010. I have had it for over 5 years now. I an an artist and author .For awhile Parkinson's has ceased all art making for me. I couldn't even sign my name before starting medication. Now I can do my artwork again. Some things have changed. I was shaking so bad with my right hand, I taught myself to paint and draw with my left hand. I am right handed. Now I can paint and draw with both hands. In a way my artwork has become "richer" due to this fact. The goal of this book is to show that you can still do the things you love if you have Parkinson's . For me that is Art just you might have to get there differently: the use of my left hand in creating artwork. This book is "handwritten account" of having Parkinson's. I use my artwork with handwritten text to explain some of the terms of Parkinson's such as Bradykinesia . Bradykinesia is a medical term that means slowness of movement. I chose to handwrite the text to give it a more "personal feel". Like you are reading my "personal journal". THE WAY I LOOK AT IT: I HAVE PARKINSON'S BUT PARKINSON'S DOESN'T HAVE ME. Thanks for looking, Patrick B. Humphreys
