Great story of trip to California
Any book by Gwen Bristow is well written and rich in history. The Jubilee Trail is the route followed by wagon trains to California. Garnet Hale marries Oliver Hale and travels the trail across the country. Some unfortunate adventures are in store for her.

Sentimental read
I originally read this book years ago and really wanted to hunt it down and re-visit it. Gwen Bristow did not disappoint me. The story and characters have held up over the years. It is an exciting adventure about the history of early California with colorful characters and great romance. A wonderful escape on a warm summer evening!
