The apostle Peter spoke of a joy that was unspeakable. In other words this joy was so amazing that words literally couldn't explain it or describe it. He reminds these Christians that temptations and trials are going to come, that these things are very much a real part of life...but indescribable joy comes from knowing that none of these things change the fact that we are saved.
