The celebration was under the joint auspices of the Maryland State Bar Association and the Bar Association Of Baltimore City. The meeting was called to order by Mr. John S. Wirt, and Chief Justice James Mcsherry was called upon to preside. Rev. W. Strother Jones, Of Trenton, N. J a great-grandson of Chief J us tice Marshall, spoke Of John Marshall The Man in eloquent terms and delivered a most instructive address. He was followed by Hon. William Pinkney Whyte, who spoke Of Marshall as a Statesman, and the exercises were closed by the address Of Mr. Charles J. Bonaparte, on Marshall as Lawyer and Judge. The students Of the University Of Maryland Law School acted as ushers, and in the evening gave a banquet at the Eutaw House.
