German description: Die weit verbreitete Beschreibung der Ethik in neutestamentlichen Schriften mit den Kategorien Indikativ und Imperativ halt einer kritischen Prufung am Text nicht stand. Die Beitrage dieses Sammelbandes versuchen deshalb Begrundungsmuster jenseits von Indikativ und Imperativ zu erfassen. Hierbei werden Verflechtungen mit ethischem Denken im Vor- und Umfeld des Neuen Testaments (z.B. hellenistisches Judentum; Stoa) wahrgenommen; ferner wird die Anwendbarkeit von Leitbegriffen im Diskurs zur antiken Ethik wie z.B. Lebenskunst oder Guterabwagung in Glucksethiken gepruft. Im Zentrum stehen die ethischen Begrundungsformen in einzelnen neutestamentlichen Schriften, sei es bei Paulus, in den Evangelien oder in der Briefliteratur (Jak, 1Petr).
