Wonderful compilation with Brett's gorgeous illustrations. Book arrived bowed (appeared to be due to shipping b/c there is no water or age showing on book) but with some effort (it's a thick book) I was able to reshape it and it now lays flat.

a real treasure
This book is a real treasure, Christmas or not! It contains some classic, traditional Christmas stories as well as others that are classically Jan Brett. Of course it is full of illustrations that are rich in color and detail. They are a joy to pour over time and time again. The characters in the non-tradional stories display qualities like kindness, caring, bravery and intelligence, good examples for us all. I've shared these stories with children in my 1st grade classes as well as my own grandchildren. They are always a hit. (especially the trolls!) Take the time to check out janbrett.com as well. This author/illustrator is very generous with her work. You'll find over 4,000 pages to share with the children in your life.
