James, a rake of a cat, and his timid brother MacArthur, are dissatisfied with their home-they feel they are not cared for as a cat deserves and the servants don't treat them with proper reference. So, out into the world they go, leaving their comfortable world behind. Full of unpredictable charm and wisdom, a sense of humor, and a sense of the 'fitness' of things. A great characterization of cats.
