"Jacobean Academic Plays" is an edition of seven plays, all of which may have been written and performed in Cambridge colleges between 1611 and 1619. The plays, which have been edited from two manuscripts in the Folger Shakespeare Library, range from short dialogue to the more elaborate "Heteroclitanomalonomia", an academic grammar play in which there are political and college allegories. Each play has been provided with an introduction, and there are discussions of the contents and condition of the two manuscripts.
