No pertinent information was omitted-only occasional redundant legalese. In many cases, the entire record is given. After 30 years studying Jackson County families and living nearby, the transcriber believes this work is as accurate as possible. The intention was to transcribe or abstract the cases as set out by the court records, some of which contain sensitive information. Everything considered to be of genealogical value or interest was retained and nothing beats personal testimony. The characters and personalities of many early Jackson Countians are revealed in these detailed testimonies. Such things are important in filling the gaps in family history created by using only dates and place. Spelling and grammatical errors were retained.
