Die meisten Handlungen sind in die vielen Konflikte und Kriege eingebettet und in das irische Leben einer vergangenen Zeit, in das man tief eintaucht, was die eigentlichen Geschehnisse oft zur Nebensache macht. Es gibt aber auch solche Erz???hlungen, die eher 'neutraler' Natur sind. Man wird in alte Zeiten zur???ckversetzt, die das Land gepr???gt haben. Insgesamt wird man Irland und den Kampf um seine Freiheit besser verstehen und - je nach Kenntnisstand - einiges Historisches dazugelernt haben. Hier findet man alles wieder: Kleeblatt, Heidekraut und andere Gew???chse der Gr???nen Insel, charakteristische Landschaften, die Harfe, die Irischen Brigaden, die Rapparees, die Whiteboys, die Yeoman, Geschichten vom irischen Freiheitskampf, mystische Figuren aus dem Feenreich oder Schwarzbrenner - die eigene Herstellung des, Poitin' oder, Poteen' - Schnaps aus Getreide, Kartoffeln oder Zuckersirup ist immer noch heimlicher irischer Nationalsport - seit 1661.
