Gathering together articles by young researchers, this volume offers a taste of the current research taking place in Italian Studies at the present moment. From more traditional research - such as literature and cultural studies - to the more modern interpretations of translation and language studies, the book offers an insight into the innovative methodological perspectives and findings offered by these young Italian Studies researchers today. The book is divided into three sections, each section is then grouped into a subject area, such as: Literature, Translation, Gender Studies, Language and Linguistics. Interdisciplinary research and cross-fertilizations emerge in several of the essays and the coherent ensemble constitutes an example of the far-reaching results being achieved in this current research. The essays in this volume originate from the Society for Italian Studies Postgraduate Colloquia that took place at the University of Leicester in 2004 and the University of Cambridge in 2005.
