Grass-green boards, black lettering, clean, bright, a little shelf-wear to extremities. DJ mostly clean, colors bright, two short [1/4'] tears, minor edge wear, faint stain from label removal by PO at lightly sunned spine. This book takes a look at the effect VISTA volunteers had on Arkansas communities and, in turn, the effect the communities had on the volunteers. They lived in selected areas for a year or more, learning first hand about poverty, and struggling to eradicate it. In many cases, neither the volunteers nor the community would ever be the same.
