The responsibility of discovering this mysterious person's identity falls to Beethoven's friend and secretary (Jeroen Krabbé), who sets out on an investigation that soon becomes an exploration of the composer's life. A Mesmerizing Performance
Beethoven's dark and hidden passions are revealed in this movie by a mesmerizing performance by Gary Oldman and Isabella Rossellini. Supporting actor Jeroen Krabbéis a brilliant actor, no matter what role he has. The only drawback is the lack of his music scores.
