In that regard, it's a less advanced version of the proper album, though it is a great deal of fun (and most of the Who's records in those days were lots of fun) and has a cool-looking cover. It's not essential, by any means, unless you're one of those (of whom there are many) who regard any combination or permutation of the Who's early records to be worthwhile.
