Know Thyself
Are you tired of the illusion? Nasargadatta Maharaj...... only through stepping out of the mind can one enter into the state of pure awareness. Only through surrendering what one thinks, what one thinks one knows, all beliefs, concepts, and all mind-related nonsense.... through letting go of identification with object consciousness..... does one finally let go of all that one is NOT. When all that is NOT has fallen away, what is left (revealed) is all that Is.... Peace is but a word which is a 'pointer' to That Which Is, which has no label..... peace is our true essence. My words can only point, yet still pale in comparison to the wisdom that Maharaj has shared with those who have sought truth. To know who you are, you must know who you are NOT. His words (pointers) cut to the core of truth, and all that is necessary is a "readiness"..... to return Home. Here is the most sublime truth for anyone who is ready to Know Thyself.

Cuts right to the meat of nondualism and is of particular use to those studying in that tradition, but the extremely direct advice could (and should) be taken by anyone regardless of their spiritual inclination. This book is a collection of transcriptions of talks Nisargadatta Maharaj had with his students, so the nature of the advice ranges broadly, from very practical matters to the deepest depths of nondual philosophy. This is a brain-busting book - though often hard to truly get your mind around, the ideas contained within will change your perspective and your life. One of the greatest spiritual books ever written, in any tradition.
