This text extends the first adding flesh to the bones already assembled by adding in the case studies various means and strategies available at a meta-level to the basic techniques introduced to form the skeleton. Like the first book in the series, I found this one enjoyable and informative reading as well as fun to work with the contents of.
Erickson utilizes a teaching method that encourages each student to express themselves from their personal experience and frames through assimulation of the essentials of his methods and creative, spontaneous improvization rooted in their personal experience of both content and frames. These books provide a basis for useful self expression that allows for play and fun as motivators to continue learning--- not a rigid straitjacket for the practitioner .
