I had never expected to be writing this book. I had never anticipated that I could be so badly hurt - Then, as the circumstances in my life changed, there came into my mind the impression of thousands, of wounded soldiers strewn across the battlefield. Many hurt by friendly fire but with no one tending their wounds. - "We've got a world to win," came the shout from those surging ahead. "We are in a war!" cried another. Yes, we are in a battle, but many casualties are lying unattended - the more fortunate ones may make it to a field hospital but many have been left to bleed on their own - Men and women who would get back into the battle if only somebody would take the time and effort to get alongside them and help their wounds to heal. Then I heard the Lord saying, "Comfort ye My people." (You do something) and I had the impression that the revival we have so long prayed for, and earnestly begged from the Lord; cannot take place until the wounds of these men and women are healed and they are restored. Only when these multitudes of God's hidden, hurting people are comforted, as first step in preparing the way of the Lord, can we expect all flesh to see the Glory of the Lord. (Isaiah 40) To those who are hurting, I hope that the words in this book will be taken up by the Spirit of God to help you and to heal you. Imagine the power which would be released as the broken ones return in all their pain. Father feels their pain but what about their elder brothers and sisters.
