A compilation of 4 of Horowitz's books
This book is a compilation of I. A. Horowitz's How to Win in the Chess Openings, New Ideas in Chess Openings, How to Win in the Middle Game of Chess, and How to Win in Chess Endings. Three of these books - his books on the openings and endings - are readily available separately. His book on the middle game can be hard to find.
the information on the openings is somewhat dated, but that won't be a problem for players rated under 2000 or so. The ideas are still valid. Besides, Horowitz was writing for players in the 1300-1800 or so range
I believe this volumn is now out of print, soplaces like Alibris are the only places where it can be found nowadays. It is an excellent source of instruction on chess, and since it can only be bought used it is far cheaper than newer books with a far more limited scope.
