Cary Grant scored still another box-office smash with his 1958 vehicle Houseboat. Grant plays a widowed father who packs himself and his spoiled kiddies off to a ramshackle houseboat. Enter Sophia Loren, who is attempting to break loose from her tyrannical father's (Eduardo Cianelli) iron grip. She hires on as Grant's housekeeper and his children's governess. Though Grant struggles valiantly to maintain a "hands off" policy, he and Loren are billing and cooing by fadeout time--but not before plenty of reversals, recriminations and sitcom-style mishaps. As a bonus, the kids end up behaving like little angels (not surprising, since Loren has threatened from time to time to turn them into genuine angels if they don't toe the line). According to most sources, the on-screen romance between Cary Grant and Sophia Loren in Houseboat spilled over into their private lives as well, though Sophia put an end to this dalliance when she married Italian movie mogul Carlo Ponti. Seller's Description:
Very good. ***SINGLE ORDERS EXCEEDING $200.00 MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR DISCOUNTS AS OUTLINED IN THE "ABOUT THE SELLER" SECTION*** EXPEDITED SHIPPING IS AVAILABLE WORLD-WIDE. As for me, I am a "small shop" retiree, prioritizing customer service. All "new" items, unless otherwise noted, are Factory Fresh/Sealed in Excellent Condition and will be mailed expeditiously. "Like New", "Very Good", and "Good" items have packaging conditions reflective of the listing. Not all used items will have inserts. Used discs themselves will be in very good to excellent condition in all cases. Note well: on occasion, discs may become dislodged from the center hub holding it in place within the sleeve. This is not a defect, nor should you presume the item to be damaged. It is not an uncommon occurrence, signaling minor cosmetic consideration solely and, again, does not impact, in 99% of the cases, the quality of the DVD provided. As is always the case, damaged DVDs may be returned for credit within the timeframe provided by Amazon.
This is Cary Grant at his most charming . . . and funny. Sophia at any age is a joy. The two of them together is totally entertaining . . . but the kicker is knowing that Cary really fell for Sophia while making this movie and it shows! Best of all is you can watch this movie with your special someone, as a girls-night-in, or with the whole... family. What a unique concept!

I like this movie because it shows what REAL women are supposed to look like. I also like the fact that it is possible to find love amid an already made family.(Who wants to gain 150 pds. to pop out some kids when someone else can do it for you!)
