Very Good in Very Good jacket. Size: 8vo-over 7.75"-9.75" tall; Tight, bright first edition hardcover in black glossy paper covered boards with sharp tips and lightly bumped spine ends. Fep removed, one school stamp on foot of title page and on edges of page block. Tape marks on endpapers, 201 pp text is crisp and bright. Un-clipped color illustrated dj is a professional reproduction and displays well in new mylar. Removed call tag from dj spine left a slightly yellowed patch, looks good on the shelf. An array of stories about the Western horse, the racehorse, and ponies make up the first three sections, while the last is a pot pourri which includes the classic story of Alexander and Bucephalus, and Paul Gallico's touching "The Small Miracle." Several of the other well-known authors who appear are Will James, MacKinlay Kantor, Walter Farley, Dick Francis, Gordon Grand, and Colin Lofting. 16 stories in all, illustrated with masterly drawings by Sam Savitt, this anthology will appeal to horse lovers of ALL ages.
