Not illustrated. 1892 Excerpt: ...his wife. 1st. Mary Elizabeth Stockton was born in Baltimore, Dec. 7th, 1826. She was married to Wm. B. Wilson Nov. 6th, 1849, at the residence of her father, by Rev. W. A. Scott. Mr. Wilson was a native of Ohio, born at St. Clairsville in Belmont County, Feb. 9th, 1S12. He had been a railroad man when railroads were first being introduced into the West and South, and was employed at one time on the Pontchartrain railroad, connecting the city of New Orleans with Pontchartrain, one of the earliest roads built in the country, soon after its completion about 1833. Mr. Wilson went to New Orleans in 1835, and at the date of his marriage with Miss Stockton, he was superintendent of the New Canal. Four sons and two daughters were the fruit of this marriage. 2d. Eliza Jane Stockton was born in Baltimore May 14th, 1828. She was married to Charles V. Lytle Oct. 24th, 1846, by Rev. Theodore Clapp. Mr. Lytle was a native of Virginia, born in Winchester, Frederick County, of that State on Feb. 23d, 1823. He went to New Orleans in 1837 and soon after that became engaged and interested at the pork inspection and later as a merchant in the warehouse business. Five sons and six daughters were born to them. 3d. James T. C. Stockton was born in Baltimore on Nov. 3d, 1829. He was married at Bay St. Louis, Hancock County, Miss., to Miss Elodie Monette, daughter of Judge Julius Caesar Monette, a native of Lyons, France, bom May 9th, 18o3, and Louisa Martelli, his wife, born in Baton Rouge, La., July 2, 18o3. The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Berteux, on June 1. 1853. Mr. Stockton was a good accountant and was employed as collector for a time at the New Canal office and as clerk on a steam boat running on the Alabama River between New Orleans and Montgomery, Ala....
