A Good, Entertaining Read
I happened to pick up this book because I was out of the country and could not put it down! It's the story of an arrogant rancher who's under police investigation, a half-Indian woman who is his lawyer, and the supporting characters that make the story flow from event to event. The rancher, Ross Ketchum, as said before, is bold, arrogant, and quite the ladies man; the lawyer, Isabella, is cautious, logical, and half-Apache, so she's got fire along with her ice-princess nature. I love her dream to work at the Apache rez where she grew up. She finds Ross pretty hard to work with and even goes as far as to want to stay in town at a hotel so she won't have to get too close. She has issues of her own: a white father, an Indian mother, and an intense dislike for white men in general. He's got issues of his own: a wife who valued her career and an intense dislike for career women in general. Nonetheless, the outside situation makes them close and they are left in a quandary and a dangerous situation.
