This collection of materials contains almost all the original source materials needed to understand the issues surrounding the four known voyages of Henry Hudson. However, 400 years after the fact, new materials are still coming to light. Unfortunately, all the writers on the subject to date, have failed to assimilate the Asher collection in a useful way. Hudson's last voyage in 1610 was not intended to find the Northwest Passage, although that was the cover story. A careful reading of Asher will provide the evidence, in addition to recently surfaced materials, of Hudson's real motivations and the intent of the team with which he was associated.
