I was expecting/wanting more combat action along the lines of Dick Winters' book, "A Band of Brothers.". However, 90% of "A Helmet...." was about the author's non-combat activities in the Pacific theater. I got bored waiting for something interesting to happen. I guess he didn't see as much combat as Winters. I feel I wasted my $$,

War classic
A great literary work to come out of WWII. Leckie is a genuine wordsmith as well as a warrior.
