Elegant City
This book presents a representative selection of notable Churches of the Archdiocese of Chicago. The photography was excellent and the written material was instructive. It is a good coffee table edition of Religious Architecture. It's a pleasant read for those interested in the transcendent character of the 19 century theology expressed through architecture. This age has passed away with the progress of time. The new incarnation theology calling for community will replace this past era. Yet, We desire that which is familiar. We look for books of this nature to preserve and explain the culture that has passed.
