Richard Mollica has written a perceptive, moving and HOPEFUL book about healing from trauma. He emphasizes the human capacity for self healing and suggests how that can be encouraged. He also warns against isolating survivors with nothing to do, as we often do (Katrina, Cambodia, etc) as this perpetuates problems. From his wealth of experience with Cambodian and other survivors he suggests princlples for handling trauma survivors, principles which encourage self-healing, how professionals can adopt them, and some of the changes we as a society must make so survivors can tell their stories in a healing way.
