Seller's Description:
Illustrated by Susan Van Ripper Krill. Near Fine with no dust jacket. 093221228X. A perennial favorite, these tales by Cully Gage are about real people of the "old Upper Peninsula"--Gypsies, miniers, lumber jacks, the new cabin, the rich man, etc. First published in 1982, this copy is a 1992 reprinting. The illustrator is the author's daughter. There is a small bookshop sticker on the upper edge of the rear wrapper, else this is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates. The publisher's original brown and cream printed paperback covers are in nice condtion with no creases, tears or chips. This book appears to have been unread.; B&W Illustrations; 8vo 8"-9" tall; 127 pages.
Cully's books remind me of my chilhood, growing up in a small rural community, where you knew everyone, and eveyone knew your business. We stuck together as a large extended family helping when necessary.
