Psychologische Theorien und politisches Verhalten: Kann man Ph???nomene im Bereich politisch relevanten Verhaltens mit behavioristischen, kognitivistischen und/oder psychoanalytischen Begriffen erkl???ren? Im Mittelpunkt der Politischen Psychologie bzw. der Wahlforschung steht die Frage "Wer w???hlte was und warum". Einstellungen, Wahlverhalten und Motive des W???hlers werden analysiert. Eine wichtige Rolle spielen ebenso die Voraussetzungen, Einfl???sse und Bedingungen, unter denen die Wahl getroffen wurde, und welche Konsequenzen davon erwartet werden. Zwischen diesen Einflussfaktoren bestehen komplexe Wechselwirkungen, deren Bestimmung selbst der Wahlforschung schwerf???llt. Edward L. Thorndike, ein Vertreter des Behaviorismus, erforschte, dass Verhaltensweisen, die zu "guten" Konsequenzen f???hren, wiederholt werden und solche, die zu "schlechten" Konsequenzen f???hren, nicht wiederholt bzw. vergessen werden. Im Falle von W???hlerverha lten hei???t dies, wenn ein W???hler Partei X gew???hlt hat und diese auch nach dem Wahlkampf seine Interessen vertritt bzw. in seinen Augen "gut" regiert, wird er die Partei mit h???chster Wahrscheinlichkeit wieder w???hlen. Dies gilt nat???rlich auch vice versa f???r "schlechte" Konsequenzen seiner Wahl. B. F. Skinner, ein weiterer Behaviorist, war der Auffassung, dass das Ignorieren eines bestimmten Verhaltens zur Extinktion (L???schung) dessen f???hrt: F???hlt sich der W???hler nun also von einer Partei betrogen und somit entt???uscht, da sie das Anliegen des W???hlers nicht beachtet, f???hrt dies dazu, dass er entweder gar nicht mehr oder aber eine andere Partei w???hlt.
