Mr. Lawrence-King & the Renaissance Harp
The best way to summarize my opinion of this recording: it is a 'must-have' for fans of the harp as well as renaissance music in general. The tones Mr. Lawrence-King draws from this unique instrument can best be described as "golden." Furthermore, the repertoire he plays here is a revelation, ranging from pieces that use 'glissando' technique, as well as works with the same style of counterpoint found in the lute & keyboard repertoire of this era. Perhaps the most important word to use in describing this recording is 'beauty.' Similar to lute music, this music for renaissance harp is simply, indescribably beautiful.
