The plot is interesting and well written. The details of all the scenes and characters keeps your interest. There are many characters and their personalities make them interesting. Besides the mystery and finding out who the killer was, you wanted to know what decision Sarah Booth was going to make about her life. I haven't read the other Southern Belle Mysteries featuring Sarah Booth Delaney. I like to read books with the same author and often don't start out with the first in the series. This is the first series where I was confused by starting off reading a later book. First of all, I couldn't figure out the author called Sarah Booth by two names and every other character was called by his first name only. "Booth" didn't sound like a middle name like "Ann" or "Jane", so I thought it was her last name until finally someone called her Ms. Delaney. Also, there's a ghost called Jitty who dresses in all kinds of different outfits. There's no explanation on who Jitty is or was, or why she dresses differently each time she appears. I see no reason for her existence except to show up from time to time to talk to Sarah Booth at her home - and she doesn't actually give any advice.
