Not for the faint of heart. This is a narrative, as told to the author, by the survivor of the infamous Donner party. The opening text lists the dead and the survivors, who resorted to cannibalism in order to live. They had no choice. However, the two Indian scouts were deliberately murdered to be eaten/cannibalized. Again, I stress, not for the faint of heart. A very disturbing but true account of the actual tragic event.
