It remains an issue with important lessons even to the world of the 21st century. In Great Betrayal, which I have recently translated into English, Cossack White General Vyacheslav Naumenko created a valuable resource to those with an interest in this history. My translation of it made the original work available to a wide audience, especially that of the offspring of that generation whose betrayal and suffering is described in it in Russian . I have now also translated Volume 2 of Naumenko's work, making that, too, available to a wider reading public. It includes much material that Naumenko could not include in the first volume. There is more on the last days of the Cossachi Stan, the fate of the XV Cossack Cavalry Corps, forced repatriations from France, Italy, and England, the ultimate fate of Cossacks given over to the Soviets, and a number of official documents related to repatriations.
