In the title story, "Grace Untethered" a young woman discovers a long-lost birth mother who is on the brink of death herself. In "Absence," a subtle and unknown desire to begin life again surfaces for the protagonist. In "Bangkok," a woman searches for the family of her recently deceased mother, and in "Cake" (nominated for best online short story of the year), a woman decides to take things into her own hands for the sake of her emotional freedom.
