This is not a book for the general reader. But if you are into railroads, especially rail transit in the New York City metro area, you'll find this book fascinating. Most of the pictures are from the mid '60s and depict a fading transit era when the three components of the New York City subway could still be told apart, the "PATH" still looked like the Hudson Tubes of old, and the Staten Island Rapid Transit had a distinctly rural field. If you remember this era, or if you've ever wondered about it, this is a great book.
