Good News multiplication and division become only slightly more difficulty as more digits are added to multipliers or divisors. By contrast, traditional methods become far more difficult as these operands get bigger. The only skills needed to learn these efficient new methods are those that third-graders already have: adding, subtracting, and comparing numbers.
