The second album of radio transcriptions made by the Casa Loma Orchestra and released by Circle is, like the first, a bit of a disappointment. Of the dozen selections, only two ("Git Away Day" and "Jimtown Blues") are instrumentals and one has to sit through six of Kenny Sargent's "dreamy" ballad vocals plus three novelties featuring Pee Wee Hunt. The Casa Loma Orchestra was much more of a well-rounded outfit than is displayed on these performances, making this an album strictly for Glen Gray completists. ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi
