The town's survival has greatly depended on the compliance of residents with the laws and restrictions, and staying within the Divide's boundaries. However, their will to comply has slowly eroded over time. Prosperitans want to reach out and become part of the modern world, to go beyond the walls surrounding the Divide. It's 1988, and innovations in technology are in the incubator, shrinking the world with each baby step of growth. Change is coming, and the seams of isolation are near to bursting. But for some, freedom isn't their ultimate goal, convincing evidence that greed and betrayal ride on the wind like a virulent disease for those naturally susceptible.
