Tra i fungicidi sistemici, l'esaconazolo ??? risultato essere il fungicida pi??? efficace e ha inibito (99,6%) la crescita miceliare in vitro. Tra i fungicidi non sistemici, il mancozeb (83,5%) e l'ossicloruro di rame (78,5%) sono risultati abbastanza efficaci. Tra gli erbicidi, il pendimetalin e tra gli insetticidi il profenofos sono risultati i migliori in vitro. Gli estratti acquosi di aglio (60,0%) e curcuma (26,5%) hanno inibito la crescita miceliare del fungo e anche gli estratti di mehandi sono stati promettenti. La resa dei bulbi nelle parcelle protette con esaconazolo (0,005%) rispetto a quelle non protette ??? aumentata di 3,80 kg/parcella (aumento del 94,06%). L'esaconazolo (0,005 %) si ??? rivelato il migliore nel controllo della malattia in vivo, con conseguente aumento della resa dei bulbi.
