This is the third book I've used in the Made Simple language series and it is very similar to the other ones: short chapters, practical focus, aimed 100% at self-learners. The brilliant thing with this book is that the chapters are kept very short and each chapter only introduces 2-3 new grammatical concepts. As a long time self-learner in languages I think this is a winning strategy because you don't overwhelm the learner with grammar and vocabulary in each chapter, therefore progression is steady and learning becomes very fun. Another bonus is that you can work through one chapter, exercises and all, in only 15-20 minutes. The vocabulary and expressions are modern and practical, and gramar is explained in a no-nonsense way. The book doesn't come with any audio but the book's coverage of German pronunciation was very good. Besides, German pronunciation is not much more difficult than Spanish or Italian. Another great thing about this book is its price - it covers the same as most "real"/classroom textbooks but at a signifcantly lower price.If you are a price-conscious and somewhat confident self-learner I'd recommend this book to you.
