Ein sehr schöner Einband aus Textil, hochwertiges Papier, ein kleines Vorwort gefolgt von einem ebenso kurzem Prolog, danach eine für meinen Geschmack etwas zu wenig subtile Geschichte (aber lesen Sie selbst), und dann kommen sie, die versprochenen 100 Bilder. Leider allesamt auf das Buchformat zurecht gestutzt, also streckenweise extrem stark verkleinert, trotzdem hochwertig im Druck. Abschließend folgt ein sehr lesenswerter Text zum Oeuvre Richters. Zuviel Formelles meinen Sie? Die Kunst Richters zu beschreiben jedoch wäre der Sache nach nicht gerecht. Die Betrachtung seiner Bilder allein bereitet Freude, selbst wenn das Format in dieser Größe ausfällt, Beschreibungen sind da ganz unnötig. Nur soviel: Sie sollten es sich unbedingt ansehen. Jedoch empfehle ich, sich in der einen oder anderen Ausstellung Gerhard Richters einen Eindruck zumindest einiger Originale zu machen, soweit das möglich ist. Erst so wird es dem Leser des Buches möglich sein, die Kunst hinter dem Buch wirklich zu genießen, der Schlüssel dazu, wenn Sie so wollen. Allerdings werden Sie auch ohne Schlüssel hineingelassen, zugegeben. 100 Bilder in Buchform also, die von mir fünf Sterne bekommen, denn hier stimmt die gesamte Komposition, passt zu Richters Bildern.
